INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (if so equipped)

The Intelligent Key System allows you to lock or unlock your

vehicle, open your trunk and start the engine.

NOTE: It is important to make sure the Intelligent Key is with

you (that is, in your pocket or purse).

䡲 The operating range of the door and trunk lock/unlock

function is approximately 0.8 m (31 in).

䡲 Locking the vehicle - Push any door handle Request

Switch once.

䡲 Unlocking the vehicle - Push any door handle Request

Switch

once. The corresponding door will unlock.

Push the door handle Request Switch

again within

30 seconds; all other doors, including the liftgate and

liftgate glass, will unlock.

It is also possible to change the default settings of the Intelligent Key unlock/lock by using the

Comfort & Convenience mode under Settings in the control panel.

STARTING THE ENGINE

䡲 Push the ignition knob in.

䡲 Confirm KEY DETECTED appears in the Vehicle Information

Display.

䡲 Turn the ignition knob to start the engine.

TURNING THE ENGINE OFF

䡲 Shift the transmission into P (Park).

䡲 Turn the ignition knob to the LOCK position.

䡲 An audible warning chime will sound when exiting the vehicle if the ignition knob is not

completely turned to the OFF position.

VEHICLE SPEED SENSING DOOR LOCK MECHANISM

䡲 All doors will be locked automatically when the vehicle speed reaches 15 MPH

(24 km/h).

䡲 All doors will be unlocked automatically when the ignition is turned to the OFF position.

䡲 The lock and unlock features of the vehicle speed sensing door lock mechanism can be

activated and deactivated independently of one another.

䡲 To activate or deactivate these features of the vehicle speed sensing door lock

mechanism, perform the following procedure:

1. Close all doors.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position.

3. Within 20 seconds, push and hold the power door lock switch

for more than

5 seconds to activate or deactivate the vehicle speed sensing door lock feature.
